Before stepping into entrepreneurship, Andrea Michele Taylor led innovation projects for multifamily owner-operators. It was only a matter of time until she ventured off with her own technology startup. To inaugurate Livsee’s blog, Andrea and I connected to talk about her life as a founder, her career, and her vision to build a product that “genuinely helps people.”

Before Livsee, I spent years working for some of the largest owner-operators in multifamily, immersed in innovation and ancillary revenue. I lived inside the P&L and on-site with teams, pushing new ideas in telecom and IoT, insurance programs, and resident apps, always searching for ways to grow NOI while still doing right by residents.

The real tipping point was realizing that I was already acting as an intrapreneur while watching capital chase the same safe ideas, often led by people with less operating experience than the teams doing the actual work. So when I saw a problem that AI could clearly solve, I decided to stop building under other people’s ceilings and step out as an entrepreneur to build the company I wished I’d had as an operator.

We’re building agentic AI, AI with a purpose. In multifamily, we don’t have access to actionable data, beyond maybe macroeconomic trends. We know when demand is slowing, but we don’t have the data to tell us what to do next. What is it about this property that isn’t selling? Why aren’t our prospects renting? Livsee was built to answer those questions. We’re not just another chatbot asking, “would you like a tour?” Our technology understands what motivates each prospect and turns that understanding into actionable insights that help our clients truly connect.

To keep creating something useful, a product that genuinely helps people, while growing as a business partner, a colleague, and a contributor to an industry that provides homes and community for so many.

We need to keep learning from renters. One of our biggest takeaways so far is that, despite the excess of new technologies in multifamily, in-person touring is still renters’ most common inquiry. So, we’ve rolled out a new batch of features designed to complement the touring process. Livsee sends calendar invites, so prospects don’t miss their tours. I love that it pushes me to think further ahead, understand people more deeply, and see business through a much wider lens. It’s constant growth, mixed with the appreciation for the people who show up and support you without limits. 

Usually I say, “Do you ask men that?” Then I laugh and add that life is messy, and that’s part of the fun. I’m lucky to have a supportive family, but honestly, it’s also our amazing community of believers in what we’re building. That support means we get to focus less on pivoting and more on scaling alongside our partners.

Restaurants are my happy place. I love spending time with my kids, escaping to Chicago (my favorite city) and getting lost in independent films. One day, I might even produce one myself.

Bet on yourself with unreasonable conviction, especially when the room is not quite ready for you yet. Treat the work like a great song or a great film. Keep rewriting, keep showing up, and surround yourself with people who bring harmony instead of noise. Then go build something new and shiny and genuinely impactful for the people who live with it every day.
